Regarding speed I recently got two shipments though ICCWorld PPO service. Delivered to me within 5 days flat from NY. They are cheaper too. 10$ for first 500GM and 6$ for subsequent 500Gm. They have special rates for heavy consignments also :) .

Completely agree with you, it's the delay and the constant followup required to get a SnS package delivered, which turned me towards ICCWorld.

Last 2-3 shipments, I got through ICC and the experience was much much better. I had the package in my hand the 4th day it was delivered at their NY location, that too with ZERO followup, no mails, no phone calls. ICC is not as transparent with the duty charged as in they don't give an exact splitup. But the duty is charged according to the actual rates and one can easily calculate and verify. Also they are bit a flexible with the package weight as well. Recently I got a phone which weighed about 600gm. I was charged only for the 500gm and the total amount I paid for shipping plus customs was just Rs 690.

I didnt order anything!!! Rectify this in ur records. Coz i am not paying a penny.

I agree that the service standards of SnS are going down with the increase in business. Here is the pattern I've observed:

initially:

day 1: deliver in us office, same day updated in account and forwarded to dubai.. day 3 received and forwarded from dubai.. day 4 delivery in Mumbai.

2-3 months later:

day 1: deliver in us office, same day updated in account and forwarded to dubai.. day 3 received and forwarded from dubai.. day 5 delivery in Mumbai. (one extra day for customs, understandable)

4-5 months later:

day 1: delivery in us office, same day updated in account and forwarded to dubai.. day 4 received and forwarded from dubai.. day 6 delivery in Mumbai. (one extra day to reach dubai????)

8-10 months later:

day 1: delivery in us office, updated in account next day and forwarded to dubai.. day 5 received and forwarded from dubai.. day 7 delivery in Mumbai. (one extra day to update ...????)

Present days:

day 1: delivery in us office, updated in account next day and forwarded to dubai.. day 6 received and forwarded in/from dubai.. day 8 delivery in Mumbai. (one more extra day to reach dubai ...????)..

Add to this lots of errors in correct declaration of items, Invoice sent well in time but package still valued at marked value(which is always much higher) not the invoice value, miscalculation of weight etc etc....

I preferred to use the SnS service because it is simpler to use and it is seamless. ICC world, though at the moment it is providing better service, gives PPO address which is not accepted by many sellers plus you have to update them beforehand that you are expecting a shipment.

My sincere request to SnS team is to get their act together. Your business has grown because of their good service offered hitherto and word of mouth publicity (FREE) by people like us.
 
I do agree. Their operations upto Mumbai is excellent. Once the package reaches India, they start acting up. They like ICC World, would be better off using blue dart for their domestic operations.

but even for Mumbai, their service has deteriorated over a period of time, and this has cascading effect on other cities. I'm using sns since other than ICC world it is the most cost effective option we have for small shipments.

Although I am not from sns, but I can tell you.

Its valuation will be based upon customs officer evaluated value.
 
So, My 1st International Shipment got Delivered today. Yippeee.

Duty Paid: NIL. Yes you read it right they got the shipment cleared as DUTY FREE.

Packaging: Aramex used another cardboard box and cushioned the device to protect it from bumps & dents.

Time Taken: 9 Days (includes a Sunday & Muharram). Could be a bit faster.

Only advise is to ask your NY Office Personnel to cautiously describe the products as Different Products = Different Duties. Although mine was rectified and cleared duty free but its better to be safe.

All in all it was a pleasant experience and am looking forward to avail your services in the future :)

So true. My parcel was delivered to SnS warehouse on 9th Dec morning.

And it's been with them for the past 26 hours (current NY time is nearly 9:30 am, 10th Dec) and they still haven't shipped it to UAE.
 
even with a genuine amazon invoice , the package is marked at custom assessed value . I have minimized my shopping to the absolute essential items now .
 
Unfortunately, I too have been facing delays now. My package arrived at the NY warehouse more than 2 days back, got into my account 1 day back, and has been lying like that ever since. Shipping for my last few consignments has averaged 7 days instead of the usual 5. Not liking it. But don't have an option

Apologies for this recent delay due to flight cancellations. I am sure you all would agree, this is a very rare senario. This will be sorted and SnS will get back to normal!! :)

Ideally refurbished items are prohibitted from importing into india via any mode of transport

the duty will be approx 544 INR and shipping charges is 10 USd for the 1st 500 gms +8 US for every additional 500 gms+10.3 % service tax.

I disagree. It has become quite routine now-a-days.

Also, your NY people started acting up of their own. They are declaring products with wrong description, wrong value (200$ phone gets declared as 400$!!) etc. etc.

It is true that you are refunding the excess duty but we have make follow ups for that which is not at all convenient.
 
Has anyone else got their package stuck in NY? One of my items. Stuck in NY since the 2nd December.

Same here with me. Something's really wrong. I mailed them earlier today and Anuradha said they have a flight cancellation. Never seen such delays at the NY end.
