You mean I need to change the APN to protalnmms & I will be able to surf full sites (Not just WAP sites)

It's for prepaid...do easy recharge with the amounts mentioned to avail those plans...and with portalnmms you can't surf full sites...only wap sites are allowed...no nothing much to excite about...

Can you please tell me about Post paid plans of Vodaphone Karnataka which allows surfing of all sites, NOT just WAP.

Every circle has something good plan. We don't have any good plans from Vodafone here in Kolkata.

We only have these 3 Plans:

14/- for 10MB 3 days

32/- for 25MB 7 days

98/- for 80MB 30 days

Presently using Airtel 98/- (2GB-30days) plan and I'm really happy with it. It's performing great. Speeds are nice(decent for mobile surfing and backup for broadband). The best thing I've found is their service....

1. I get tower everywhere.

2. Customer Service is good.

3. One young sexy voiced girl called me from customer care to confirm whether I'm satisfied :lol:

(BTW I"m posting from from Airtel MO)

I'll surely want to try out docomo after after reading the previous posts. But I'm sure I'll not get tower everywhere (Atleast here in Kolkata). Actually I've a docomo SIM but I stopped it as SMS'es rarely get's delivered. I didn't get Tower everywhere.

dont use vodafone GPRS... not atleast in karnataka.. damn slow speed.. i changed my sim to airtel just for gprs...
 
In Karntaka for Airtlel postpaid the only plan that seems good is UL for 140Rs per week. Still its quite costly than other circles

Thanks, Sadly cant change Vodaphone SIM.. waiting for MNP.

I am aware of 299 Rs Unlimited GPRS plan in Bangalore for Vodaphone - Mobile connect

Is there anything cheaper then this ?

Yeah, i was using that one up until a few days ago, and it has been reduced to 2 GB FUP now.

I was referring to an earlier post by Varkey which mentioned a Vodafone plan with Rs. 98/ 2GB with Mobile Connect feature as well. The one you are referring to is for mobile phones only, no PC connect.

my friends living in vasai used to connect it on pc using the same proxy address as in the phone setting so that should not be an issue i think.
Also videocon has launched no FUP unlimited internet pack @Rs.96 but the real concern is they share the network with BPL a.k.a Loop in mumbai

Vodaphone Mobile connect for 299 Rs UNLIMITED

This is for Karnakata.

Can anyone tell if its possible to surf FULL sites (NOT Just WAP) with Vodaphone LIVE ? if yes how ? Browser - Opera Mini

Tell me how you want to connect ? Just on the phone or phone and pc both?

if you want to use it for opera mini then you should select the default wap connection to be vodafone live
if your phone is a sony ericsson then you should select the setting for java as that of vodafone live.

For Pc : will have to wait longer as i need to know what exactly you mean by full sites (https or Torrents).

Yes you can open any website using Vodafone Live not just mobile optimized sites. But you will be accessing through a proxy so only http and https protocols will be available.

Then I must say Airtel MO is best. I can access any protocols and even connect to PC and do anything.

Vodafone Mobile Connect is the equivalent of Airtel MO and you can access any protocols using that. I was saying about Vodafone Live which has these limitations just like Airtel Live.

I feel Vodafone Mobile Connect is better coz its 299 Rs UNLIMITED, while Airtel MO 98 Rs with 2 GB Limit.

Sorry my bad... Here is the requirement.

Handset - Sony K750i (Might migrate to iPhone 3G with Safari/Opera)

Browser - Opera Mini 4.2

Requirement - Check Yahoo mail, Gmail & May be messenger, Full sites means normal viewing of all these mails. NOT WAP Site(not just mobile optimized sites)

NO use of torrent download on mobile.

Corret me if I am wrong on this

- Vodaphone LIVE - Can be used ONLY in using Phone surfing, Cant connect to PC & surf on PC

- Vodaphone Mobile connect - Can be used on Phone as well on PC also, Make phone as modem & surf on PC

If I dont want to connect to PC & surf (Guess iPhone's safari will be enough for good surfing in future) can I go ahead with Vodaphone LIVE coz its just 99 Rs ?

Do I need to change any portalmms thing to surf ?
