because there is nothing to mentioned about it. Its an old cheap 450W Frontech PSU. Should I go for FSP SAGA 2 500W or Gigabyte 460 is enough?
If u r ready to buy Gigabyte Superb 460w (400w) which is selling for 1950 then i wud advise to spend some more money and buy Corsair CX400 ~ 2400... Its a highly reliable PSU... 80+ Certified And Comes wid 3yrs warranty... Plus Corsair has great A.S.S...

It will be a very wise investment if OP is willing to make it.

Ok, then you should change it immediately with atleast a FSP Saga II 350W. Dont bother with gigabyte 460, rather add a few hundreds and go for CX400/Seasonic SS-400-ES 400W/SeaSonic S12 II SS-380GB 380W (best option; very quiet and highly efficient) for ~2.4k

I'd advice you not to go with labeled wattage's as more often then not they aren't true. Gigabyte 460 is nothing but FSP 400W rebranded although it seems to have decent efficiency.

Thanx for the quick reply

Every body suggesting CX400 or FSP, so those must be good PSU then. If I upgrade in future (3-4 months) for an example I7 Processor and latest gfx card then is those PSU are still usable or I need more wattage?

For future safety should I go for 400W or 500W.

Can u tell us how much are u willing to spend on a PSU? so that we can suggest u a PSU accordingly... And IMO its always better to buy a higher wattage PSU for future upgrades but of good brand...

If u r gonna upgrade ur rig to i7 wid a mid end graphic card like HD6950 then a 500w or 550w PSU like Seasonic S12II 520 ~ 3500 (80+ Bronze Certified + 5 Yrs Warranty) or Corsair VX550 ~ 4800 (80+ Certified + 5 Yrs Warranty) wud suffice...

@Hades

I think its fair to spend around 4K for the PSU. But sadly this month I am low in budget already :( . Judging from your previous post I should buy 500W at-least. So I think I should go for FSP SAGA 2 500W. Its low in price and well accepted among you all.

Off topic
do you know how the service of TheITWares. I am trying to contact him from yesterday but not answering to PM's. Going to order one from him.

If u r low on budget then i wud suggest u to buy CX400 over FSP Saga... CX400 has better build quality plus its 80+ certified...

If Rahul is not replying... then Call him... u can get his Cell Phone number from his site...

Bro, I wont call 6950 mid-end.

Anyways the OP would be better off with Seasonic 520W if he wishes to add something like 6950/6970 + i7 in the future.

Then what u wud call it? :p

I may upgrade soon. And if I do, this is what I'll be putting in the PC.

i5 2500K

4GBx2 XMS3

Asus P8P67

HD4670 ( for now, I'll be upgrading this later )

Seagate 7200.10 500GB

And a few fans here and there.

I was originally thinking the FSP Everest 500W, but now I'm leaning toward the Seasonic S12II 520 Bronze because I happened to stumble across it at the itwares site. And if I upgrade, I'll be getting a 5770 or something thats just a wee bit more powerful than that and putting it in there. Seems about right?

^High-end :)

6850/6870/GTX460 is med-end
The way ATI Priced their HD6950 1GB card, it looks more like a mid end card... HD6870 is selling for 239 dollars @newegg and HD6950 1Gb for 259$... So i find it more in the mid end category... And in India HD6870 is selling for like 14k and HD6950 1Gb for 15k (Not Considering HIS HD6950 1GB ~ 14500 as its not arrived yet) so for just 1K more HD6950 1Gb is a steal deal... :)

That can be done on CX400/Seasonic S12II 380w/Seasonic 430W too but yeah if you have the money go for S12II 520W

Nope... Buy a 650w PSU if u r going to SLI...

If FSP Saga II 350w is sufficient for my PC and instead of that we take Corsair CX400 or FSP Saga II 500 w, which is wiser to invest in currently.

Whats ur confug?

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @4.5Ghz

Motherboard: Asus P8P67 PRO

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus with two CM Blade masters in push-pull
RAM: Gskil Sandy Bridge 4GB(Ripjaws X Series) 1600Mhz DDR3 2GB X 2

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB

Casing: NZXT Tempest Evo with six 120mm LED Fans

Plz suggest a very good modular PSU for this config from any brand. My budget is not more than 7,000 rupees. I am an extreme OCer and like to push things to their limits. I hate unstable systems after OCing. I will never go for an SLI or Xfire setup. So, these keep these issues in mind while giving suggestions..:) Thanks.
