Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @4.5Ghz

Motherboard: Asus P8P67 PRO

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus with two CM Blade masters in push-pull
RAM: Gskil Sandy Bridge 4GB(Ripjaws X Series) 1600Mhz DDR3 2GB X 2

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB

Casing: NZXT Tempest Evo with six 120mm LED Fans

Plz suggest a very good modular PSU for this config from any brand. My budget is not more than 7,000 rupees. I am an extreme OCer and like to push things to their limits. I hate unstable systems after OCing. I will never go for an SLI or Xfire setup. So, these keep these issues in mind while giving suggestions..:) Thanks.
can u extend ur budget to 8.5k? If u can then for 1.5k more buy Seasonic X-760 Fully modular (Gold Certified) PSU eyes closed... :)

If FSP Saga II 350w is sufficient for my PC and instead of that we take Corsair CX400 or FSP Saga II 500 w, which is wiser to invest in currently.

Here is a suggestion- please do think over it if possible.

You may skip the CPU cooler for now or at least those extra fans- i5 2500K will have good enough grunt as is when you get it.

You can get the extra fans or a better cooler after some months when you may have saved enough to afford it and can do your extreme OCing then. :P

Or you can get the Tempest EVO without LED fans (if you are buying those extra i.e.).

Or get a cheaper case.

But try to get a good PSU like HX750 or something similar/better at least. :)

I want to buy the tempest Evo case because it is a great case & I like it very much. I won't have to buy those fans seperately because that case comes with six 120mm fans:D. About cooler.. I am from Bangladesh.. I am coming to Bangalore on coming May and will buy the PC. If I don't buy the cooler now then it isn't possible for me to buy that later on.. anyways what's the exact price of HX650w?

I want to buy a PSU for my simple desktop computer with following configuration:

* Gigabyte G31 Motherboard
* Intel C2D 2.2 Ghz E4500
* 2 x 2GB DDR2 RAM
* ATI HD 4350 Graphics Card (I use it only for HD Video playback)
* 1 x 1.5TB WD Green Hard Drive
* 1 x 2TB WD Green Hard Drives
* 1 x DVD-Writer IDE
* 1 x BD-ROM Drive SATA
* USB 3.0 add on card (planning to buy it in 1-2 days)

What will be by best cost effective option. I don't want the cheapest PSU but it should be good value for money. I want it to be very silent also.

Please suggest me the model with the approximate cost. :)

Buy Gigabyte Superb 460w (400w) ~ 1.95k comes with three years warranty... But if you can spend a bit more then i would suggest u to buy Corsair CX400 ~ 2400 (80+ Certified + 3Yrs warranty)

Thanks. Can spend more. :)

What is the best online option to buy CX400 or Rs.2,400/- is the Nehru Place (or similar) market price ?

Whats ur budget and by the way would you be upgrading your current rig in the future if yes then i wud suggest you to buy a higher wattage PSU like Corsair VX450 ~ 3500 or Seasonic S12II 520w ~ 3500...

send a PM to TheITWares to check that whether he has S12II 520w in stock or not...

Thanks.

Budget is not a problem but I don't think I will need to upgrade anytime soon because my current configuration is more than sufficient for my requirements and I am happy with it. :)

PSU buying advice

My current config is in my siggy.
Suppose i'm to own a PC like this in near future what would be good /stable power supply be

Intel i7 2600k
P67 - board (yet to zero in ,which supports crossfire)
Corsair XMS3 Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory -6GB (1600mhz)
DVD drive
2 HDD(1.5 TB and 640 GB) + 2 HDD in future
GPU - ATI HD 6950 in Crossfire
Benq E2200HD
Cabby NZXT Phantom(1 X 140mm,3 x 120mm,1 x 200mm)

PSU Budget - 10k + 1k (extended budget)

I honestly believe i would/could buy all these in step by step basics.like to start off with PSU
which is good /idle/stable power supply with good warranty. Modular and non-modular doesn't concern me.

I did read some reviews about Seasonic (SS-850 , X-850) and Corsair (TX-850 , HX-850 ,AX-850) PSU
and i must say i got really confused :ashamed: .

why GOLD certified PSU is modular ones ? :huh:

Brand - any
wattage - 850 or higher within my budget
Certification - any
Will i OC ? - yes

If you would be crossfiring say 2xHD6950s wid the above mentioned rig then X-760 modular PSU wud b more than enough for that kinda setup...

Seasonic X-Series PSUs are better than Corsairs HX-series PSUs... And performs like Corsair AX-Series PSUs... or shud i say that AX-Series PSUs performs like Seasonic X-Series PSUs coz Seasonic X-Series PSUs launched first... :)

Currently at the price X-760 is selling buying it is a nobrainer thing... Coz if you'll compare Seasonic X-760 price with Corsair AX-750 PSU you would get to know that X-760 is cheaper and performs similar like AX-750... And u must b knowing that even AX-750 is made by Seasonic... :)

spot on :hap2: . very helpful info.

so x-760 would suffice my needs and no need for x-850,it would be a overkill right ?

Correction - Corsair manufactures their lineup of power supplies. It is not 'made by' Seasonic. This is a misnomer widely spread. They rely on Seasonic's designs but improves it in-house. And is not an exact OEM-copy either. :)

Modular cable design has nothing to do with a PSU's 80 PLUS rating. There are even silver and bronze rated power supplies that are modular and otherwise.

For instance, these Enermax PRO87+ 500W and 600W supplies. They are non-modular and yet are 80+ Gold rated.

It only aids in the cable management - you can stow away all those unwanted cables. You have a pretty good budget for a power supply. Get the best while you can since it will last you for the upgrades to come. Recommendations - Corsair AX850, Seasonic X850. There's no such thing as an overkill here TBH. The HX620 I had before lasted me for three upgrades, saw me through a 8800GTX, 4850 crossfire and the HD4870. Ofc while changing a lot more components - it was the best companion in my system until I decided to switch to a Seasonic 850W unit. :)

I meant most of the GOLD certified PSU above 750 W is modular i.e a model in Antec which is semi modular.(looks fat *ss)

Thanks for the insight.will proceed with Seasonic X850.
