Graphic Cards GPU pricing trends

Asus tuf 3080 12gb 67500rs in mdcomputers with this coupon kqa8a0xg. I'm so close to buying but deciding if it's worth it or wait for new gen
You remember that 2080Ti was selling upwards of 1L and was dethroned by 3070 for almost half the price when it was launched. Similarly, 3080Ti will be dethroned too. If you are getting it around 60k or less then go for it, else wait for 6 months.

I don't think that's gonna happen with this new gen cards, it'll be great if it does let's see.

I don't think prices of 40 series graphics card will overlap with 30 series ones. If 4080 is twice as fast than 3080 then it'll also cost twice as much.

Of course, wondering why people even running to compare these 2 gens?
I will even rofl atm as even nvidia knows more than half of their 3 series gpus have gone only in the hands of miners and scalpers and yet 40% gamers are yet to get their hands on 3 series and they have came up with 4 now.
3 series is still gonna ell like hot cakes till early 2024 if not Q4 2023. Imagine getting 3070 in 30sss K.

4080 will be more like 75-80k if they're being sane, or if they pull a 3080ti and price it more than a lakh then I'll be sticking with my 1650 till it dies. I only need the 4070 at 65k

If I were nvidia, I'll think about my poor shareholders first. Lackluster sale of 20 series graphics cards made nvidia price 30 series reasonable.

Anyway, let's hope for the best.

I'm seeing a lot of opinions on pricing, here's my 2 cents (assuming crypto will be dead by sept-oct):
3080 was 65% faster than 2080 yet maintained the same msrp, so performance increase doesn't mean price increase.
And they sold a lot more of these 3000 series GPU than they did 2000 series so there will be a lot more used 3000 series GPU on the market so more choice for the potential 4000 series buyer.
Nvidia's stock has dropped 50% in last 6 months and they can't afford a poor reception of 4000 series.

With all that in mind I don't see the price of 4080 increasing if it is less than or around 40% faster than 3080, if its around 60-70% faster than 3080 I can see them increasing the price by a max 200$ and under no circumstance will it cost more than 1000$ even if by some miracle it doubles the performance of 3080.

30 series prices seemed "reasonable" only because of overpriced 20 series. Compare 30 series price with 10 series and you'll see it's not really that good.

The price was great when compared to 2000 series and pretty reasonable compared to 1000 series as 3060ti, 3070 and 3080( pre crypto launches) almost doubled the performance compared to similarly priced 1000 series card.

But that is to be expected with 2 generational improvements. It's nothing out of the ordinary or great. 2000 series shouldn't be compared with 3000 series for value for money as the former itself was priced stupidly.
